A couple of years ago I made this video on a whim, mostly to prove to myself that my Sony handycam was worthy of more than recording cutesy moving pictures of the kids for our Friday night entertainment. Little did I realize that once my work of art got onto You Tube, my kids would blatantly flaunt it as their stepping stone to instant fame.

Last year around this time, I received multiple requests from people asking for the link to the Green Thanksgiving video made by Arya and Ilya. This year the requests are filling my inbox once again. I am beginning to think that I need to create a series.

In San Francisco “green” was simply part of our DNA so incorporating it into our favorite holiday was a no-brainer. Here in Hong Kong I have yet to find a source for locally raised free range turkey but there is no end to the variety of decor that one can find on a simple hike up the Wilson trail. And when it comes to prepping for the long awaited Thursday, my kids are raring to go with a whole new Green Thanksgiving in Hong Kong format.

So for those of you who would like to get your kids involved, here are some prep tips from Ilya and Arya; and to those of you who like us, love the idea of a holiday that focuses on nothing but food, may I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy Turkey Day.
